I liked my most recent paycheck...
...since it was nice and fat. Got another raise (my third in six months), bit of a Christmas bonus thrown in as well. I guess my employer feels guilty for sticking me with all those night shifts. I didn't even have to use my overdraft privileges this month, so I'm way, way ahead of the game. Wonder how long that will last?

I would like a microfiche reader for Christmas. Do you know where the heck I can buy one? :p

You can find everything on e-bay.

Doesn't look like that one ships to outside the US though...

Thanks for the suggestion. Truthfully, I'd be a bit leery buyin' something off e-bay, though, even if it could be shipped to Canada. In the New Year, I'll look into the office supply stores around Edmonton, places like that to see what I can find. I have an opportunity to buy an astounding amount of archival stuff for what amounts to pennies on the dollar, but it's in microfiche format. It's useless to me without a reader. I'm not gonna get the stuff unless I can get a good deal on one.

Whelp, I've been told eBay's not that bad if you look into the seller's reputation. Ah well, best of luck with hunting for a reader. Although why not use eBooks instead?

What I'm interested in...

...isn't available in eBooks. It's all government doc/archival stuff that can't be found outside of academic libraries. I have a subscription to a library service that actually supplies this stuff to universities and they are offering me a great deal on stuff, provided I buy it in microfiche (they don't sell anything in digital format). I'm gonna look into the possibility of finding a service that will scan and store the stuff on CD-ROM the stuff for me. If it's cheaper than a reader, I'll probably go with that option.

Well, there's this book and its sequel.
I WAS going to wait until they came out in paperback next spring before I got them. :p
